Ferrosilicon 65 Introduction:
Ferro Silicon 65 is used as a source of silicon to reduce metals from their oxides and to deoxidize steel and other ferrous alloys. It prevents the loss of carbon from the molten steel , and can be used to make other ferroalloys. Ferrosilicon 65 is also used for manufacture of silicon, corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant ferrous silicon alloys, and silicon steel for electromotors and transformer cores. In the manufacture of cast iron, ferrosilicon is used for inoculation of the iron to accelerate graphitization.

Ferrosilicon 65 uses
Ferro Silicon is a universal “heat-blocker” used in the production of carbon and stainless steels.
This additive is used with other ferro alloys in the deoxidising process ofsteel, as well asin the production of silicon itself.
It is also used in the production of cast iron, as it can accelerate graphitisation. FerroSilicon replaces the need for ferro manganese, spiegeleisen and calcium silicides in the manufacturing process.
